I went back and reprocessed a photo I took on Deer Isle in the state of Maine. I wish I could overlay the fog horn, seagulls and the individual boat bells that chime as they rock back and forth. It’s a wonderful experience. Share → Tweet

I’m not sure why they call this place Burnt Cove, but I have a hunch it’s because of the great sunsets this west facing cove gets every night. With the Maine coastal landscape in the background, lobster boats scattered throughout the cove and a bright sun setting to the west, the place makes the perfect setting for a Maine sunset. A good fog is like entering another world. It adds a sense of surrealism – creates a scene straight out of a dream. The Maine coast experiences a regular fog almost daily. Rarely is there a clear day. But the great part of the fog is its added beauty to the surrounding landscape. It’s sometimes so thick that you can’t even see 100 feet in front of you. Share → Tweet
‘Lobster Village,’ United States, Maine, Deer Isle, Stonington
Stonington, Maine is a magical place. When I was younger, my family would take trips in the summertime to see our friends at their place in this small lobster village just south of Acadia National Park. The fog, clouding this shot is typical of Maine’s coast. You can see the tide change from the height of the building above the cove. 12 hours from now this cove will fill with water and look completely different.
